A Russian sludge-dewatering equipment announcement gives buyers a specific new model to investigate. It does not yet give them a comparable operating duty. For a purchasing team, the useful next step is to define the sludge and the acceptance evidence before comparing machines.
A named sludge application, without a published duty guarantee
On 28 October 2026, the Russian Association of Water Supply and Water Disposal, RAWW, reported a visit to NKMZ-ST's decanter production. Its notice identifies CRUISER 560 as a model developed for raw primary sludge and thickened excess activated sludge, extending the manufacturer's work toward municipal wastewater treatment.
That application statement matters: a supplier's experience with oilfield or mineral suspensions does not, by itself, qualify a municipal sludge duty. The notice does not publish feed-specific throughput, guaranteed cake solids, solids capture or specific energy consumption. Those results cannot be reconstructed from the model name.
Compare sludge duty on a common test basis
For Russian utilities and industrial wastewater operators, a quotation comparison should connect the feed to both outgoing streams. A high liquid feed rate can coexist with a modest dry-solids load; a dry cake figure is incomplete if solids capture or conditioning demand is omitted. These are engineering questions for a representative trial, not performance claims about the announced machine.
| Comparison basis | Record together | Reason it changes acceptance |
|---|---|---|
| Feed definition | Sludge origin, blending, thickening and representative variability | A result on a different suspension may not describe the intended duty |
| Loading | Liquid feed rate and feed solids on an agreed sampling basis | Hydraulic capacity alone does not establish dry-solids handling |
| Separation result | Cake dry solids and solids capture, with the calculation method | A favourable cake number alone can hide solids loss in the liquid stream |
| Operating scope | Conditioning, utilities and reject-water treatment obligations | Machine output alone does not describe the treatment system's full operating burden |
Agree the trial boundary before accepting a result. Identify who samples each stream, which operating conditions are held, and which results must be achieved together. Do not turn a supplier's best individual figures from different runs into one assumed guaranteed duty.
Keep registry claims and purchase acceptance distinct
The RAWW notice also reports domestic industrial-registry and software-registry statements. This article has not independently verified those entries. A registry statement attributed to one manufacturer neither proves treatment performance nor transfers to another supplier's machine.
The existing MOS continuous horizontal scroll-discharge decanter provides a separate enquiry route for wastewater and industrial suspensions. MOS is not presented here as the seller or manufacturer of CRUISER 560, and no equivalence, local registration or common test result is claimed.
When requesting a MOS configuration, provide the sludge origin and variability, feed and dry-solids basis, required cake and liquid quality, utilities and proposed test scope. Keep the equipment identity, documentary eligibility and demonstrated duty as separate acceptance questions. The announcement is useful sourcing intelligence; the missing operating evidence remains the buyer's next qualification task.
