Applications
Designed for filterable suspensions where controlled washing, dewatering, containment and automatic cake discharge are important to the process.
Antibiotics, vitamins, APIs, pharmaceutical intermediates and other crystalline or particulate suspensions requiring controlled washing and dewatering.
Salt, monosodium glutamate, starch, sugar, seasonings and food additives where hygienic solid-liquid separation is required.
Inorganic chemical products, pigments, dyes, resins, agrochemical intermediates and other difficult-to-filter solids.
Enclosed and protection-ready configurations can be engineered for hazardous or combustible suspensions after process-safety review.
Mineral products and environmental solids where batch filtration, washing and low-moisture cake discharge are needed.
Working Principle
A belt-driven motor brings the basket to operating speed. The programmed sequence controls feed distribution, centrifugal filtration, cake washing, final dewatering and hydraulic or pneumatic scraper discharge, while sensors and filter regeneration support repeatable batch operation.
The suspension enters the rotating basket through a controlled distribution system that builds a stable filter cake.
Centrifugal force drives the liquid through the filter medium while solids remain on the basket wall.
Wash liquid is applied when required to displace mother liquor and improve product purity.
The basket continues at the selected spin speed until the cake reaches the required residual-liquid target.
The basket slows to scraper speed and the actuated scraper removes the cake through the bottom outlet.
Gas backwashing and scraper-roller action reduce retained cake and prepare the filter medium for the next cycle.
Performance Highlights
The vertical scraper centrifuge platform combines controlled filtration, washing, dewatering and cake handling with a contained structure that can be adapted to demanding industrial duties.
Feeding, filtration, washing, dewatering and scraper discharge are coordinated by the programmed operating cycle.
A sealed process chamber helps limit contamination and can be configured with nitrogen protection, CIP and explosion-protection measures.
The compact layout supports stable running, flat-plate foundation-free installation and easier access for service work.
A hydraulic damping arrangement absorbs vibration and supports smoother operation across changing cake loads.
Gas backwashing and scraper-roller action help reduce retained cake and restore filtration performance between batches.
Independent drive components, position detection and DCS/HMI interfaces support automatic sequencing and remote supervision.
System Configuration
The equipment scope is selected around particle behavior, cake properties, hygiene requirements, utilities and the required level of automation.
An inclined-plate distributor and controlled feed system help form a uniform cake; a level detector stops feeding at the programmed load.
Filter cloth or screen selection follows particle size, permeability and cake behavior, while the wash stage supports mother-liquor displacement.
Back-pulsing and scraper-roller action reduce residual solids and assist filter-medium regeneration before the next batch.
The chamber, bearing housing, scraper area and feed path can use labyrinth and oil seals, nitrogen blanketing and explosion-protection provisions.
DCS/HMI control, independent drive components, CIP and project-specific contact materials support repeatable operation and maintainability.
