Reference values are shown for the listed series. Vacuum, pressure and heating entries apply to the corresponding configurations; usable batch volume and final ratings must be confirmed for the selected equipment.
The size in the product name identifies the catalogue selection. Usable working volume and operating ratings are established for the quoted configuration.
Z-Blade Mixing Principle
A pair of cooperating, rotating Z-shaped blades subjects the material to shear and compression. This action compounds, kneads and blends semi-dry, rubber-like and other high-viscosity viscoelastic materials, and supports size reduction and dispersion.
After kneading, material exits through the lower extrusion screw. This connects chamber mixing with unloading; vessel size and discharge configuration are selected for the material instead of being implied by the general product name.
Screw-Discharge Z-Blade Kneader Mixer
The equipment comprises a kneading section, base, hydraulic system, drive system and electrical control system. The kneading section includes the chamber, blade shafts, end plates and cover. A hydraulic power unit operates the cylinders for cover opening, closing and related mechanisms.
The drive consists of a motor, gear reducer and gears. Power passes through a flexible coupling to the reducer and then to the mixing blades. Manual or automatic electrical control can be specified, with a variable-frequency drive (VFD) available for speed adjustment.
Applications
Chemical and elastomer applications include high-viscosity sealants, silicone rubber, neutral-cure and acid-cure glazing sealants, resins, plastics and rubber. Other materials include inks, pigments, dyes and battery materials.
Further applications include pulp, cellulose, pharmaceutical and cosmetic materials, and high-viscosity food materials such as chewing gum and bubble gum. Equipment selection depends on the formulation, product-contact requirements and cleaning conditions.
